Narrative
MERCER CO., NJ – One person died, and two people sustained injuries Tuesday in a wrong-way collision along Route 31 in northwest Mercer County.
Shortly after noon, emergency crews reported to a major crash involving a car and a semi-truck on Route 31 near Titus Mill Road between Hopewell Township and Pennington.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Honda sedan carrying three people entered the northbound side of Route 31 and collided head-on with a northbound 18-wheeler.
Medics transported all three occupants of the Honda to an area hospital. One of the victims, a senior from Lenape High School, succumbed to their injuries after transport.
The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the accident.
