Narrative

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – A 26-year-old died on Sunday in a fiery solo crash along the New Jersey Turnpike in East Rutherford.

The accident happened around 3:45 a.m. on the westbound side of the turnpike near Exit 16.

The investigation indicates that for unknown reasons, the driver’s truck crashed into a toll plaza. The collision caused the truck to roll and catch fire.

Authorities pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. They’ve not yet released his identity to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
