Narrative
Medics transported two people to the hospital last Friday after a head-on collision caused by an alleged DUI driver. The incident happened in the evening near North Monroe Street and Fairmount Road. Police say the 59-year-old driver of a Chevy pickup truck veered out of his southbound lane and collided head-on with a northbound SUV. Both the driver of the pickup truck and the 80-year-old driver of the SUV sustained injuries in the collision. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Thomas Michalski, faces a DWI charge.
