Narrative

Medics transported a 36-year-old man to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle struck him near a busy intersection in Jersey City. The incident happened around 4:35 p.m. near the intersection of Griffith Street and Sherman Avenue, which is just northwest of Riverview-Fisk Park.  Police believe that a blue and white Toyota C-HR may have struck the pedestrian before leaving the scene and turning right on South Street. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition. Authorities encourage anyone with information to share about the incident to contact the Jersey City Police Department. A full investigation is underway.
